To balance out the historical and urban experiences, I decided to immerse myself in nature at Audubon Acres. This serene 130-acre nature preserve offered a refreshing contrast to the bustling city life. The trails, winding through lush woodlands and alongside scenic waterways, provided a peaceful retreat. As I hiked, I encountered a variety of local wildlife and enjoyed the tranquility of the natural surroundings. The highlight was discovering the historic Smith-Telford House, which added a touch of historical charm to my nature-filled adventure.
